Sophie 2021 is one of the most exceptional creations of Káldi Wine, embodying both the unique qualities of the Szekszárd wine region and the refined expertise of the winery. In the spring of 2025, the wine was awarded a gold medal at the Szeged Wine Festival, further proving its quality and character.

Terroir and Vineyard

The vineyard lies on the south-eastern slopes of Szőlőhegy in Szekszárd, at an altitude of nearly 200 meters above sea level. The grape itself is an untamable femme fatale: imperfectly perfect, whimsical and strong, yet magical. With its tiny berries and labor-intensive shoots, it constantly challenges the winemaker – but the result always rewards the effort.

Sophie is an intense and elegant red wine, where the velvety notes of barrel aging beautifully complement the rich fruitiness of the grape. Its character is both powerful and refined, offering deep structure and a long-lasting finish.
